Flatting Tutorial ala carte

Have you ever wondered what a colorist means when they say "flats" or how they go about selecting areas on one layer to paint in another, all the while being able to go back and select that area in the future, and no matter what you do it doesn't go outside of the lines?

Its a HUGE time saver, taking down the time on a piece by half for me usually.

If you want to save time, speed up and maybe even earn a little extra cash, there are a need for flatters in the comics industry. Often it can be a gateway into being a colorist, as good flatting skills are a MUST.
